In her role as the medical director for the 3East Girls Intensive and Step-Down Programs at McLean Hospital, Sophia L. Maurasse, MD, brings to her work the unique combination of highly skilled clinical expertise, an understanding of the full range of human behavior and an extraordinary capacity for compassion.

This year’s six National Compassionate Caregiver of the Year Award finalists share their personal stories of compassionate care, best practices, and their vision for the future of healthcare. The panel was moderated by Beth Lown, MD, the Schwartz Center’s Chief Medical Officer.
